I'm back!!!

i'm back!!!
not from overseas though :(
but back to the blog world

many things happened since the last time i blogged...
met many people...
travelled to many places...
called many people...
searched for many places...

& at last...
i've completed my internship...
means that bye-bye university...
at 1 moment, i was quite happy,
cos no need to go through the stressful written exams ever again...
at another moment, i felt sad,
cos i will have lesser holidays & off day once i started working in the tv production industry...
but overall,
i'm quite satisfied with my everyday's life...

i'm now a freelance Production Assistant (PA)...
working for a telemovie which will be shown on ntv7 next year...
for 3 weeks, i've been looking for suitable talents & locations...
but what i'm looking forward to is the shooting days...
wondering how it'll be different from magazine style program which i interned for...
just hope that everything will progress smoothly...

just roughly what i've been doing during my offdays since my internship started till now:
1. drama watched
tvb drama 强剑 (dunno what's the english name), tvb drama 赌场风云

2. book read
Sparkles (still half way through - not that engaging though), Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows (yeap...just completed reading the whole book few days ago...the ending is very unexpected)...Innocent Man (read half only - too factual la...will continue next time)

3. movies watched
a lot but mostly on dvd...Just Follow Law, Transformers, Pan's Labyrinth, Zathura, Invisible Target, Secrets, 300, I am Legend (in cinema)

ok la...
that's all for now...
wanna prepare for shopping spree (yes...for CNY...thinking how many wardrobe should i buy???) & family reunion tonite...

almost 1 month ago (this is why i didn't update my blog for so long)

working days:
monday - sunday (because got shooting on weekends)

working hours:
9 - 10 hours per day

journey from house to office:
20 minutes (but 40 minutes to 1 hour during go-to-work and return-home hours...tired, frustrated of inconsiderate road users)

weeks of internship:
this week is the 6th weeks (means 2 more weeks to go and then...graduate!)

days of shopping since started internship:
3 days (one of the day was during shooting because we are waiting for the profile to reach home so we 'lepak' at sunway pyramid)

everyday routine:
wake up - go to office / shooting - back home - read magazine / novel - sleep

sleeping hours:
9-10 hours per day (haha...u might ask still have so much sleeping time? cos i sleep at around 9.30pm every night...read magazine half an hour already feel very sleepy & there is nothing interesting to watch on tv so i sleep la)

my current 'job' position: student interns / production assistant (PA)

my tomorrow schedule:
assist in casting & attend buka puasa press conference (will update when i have time)

& the conflict & tension started as early as in the 1st episode...

when i was watching the first few episodes,
many thoughts came into my mind...
sometimes i really don't understand...
how could a human be so merciless???
will destroying an innocence life help to protect their secrets???
why one must use trick to achieve one's ambition but at the same time harm others' career???
why a human need to break the law to protect themselves???
why they didn't feel even a slight regret over their actions???
is surrendering themselves even more difficult than continue acting against the law???
didn't they thought of the consequences before they take any illegal actions???

is the world a save place to live?
what are shown in dramas & films reflect the society...
maybe not that dramatic though...
but it is somehow true to a certain extent...
& this drama taught us to think before we act...
& don't even think of touching the illegals, both in terms of the law & the society's ethical values (reminded me of media law & ethics)...
because sooner & later...
the secret will be leaked out...
& one will receive punishments parallel to the things they have done...

humans are born with a good heart...
don't ever let our evil heart overcome & conquer our kind heart...

it has been 1 week + since i started my internship...
during these days, i've done nothing much...
maybe it's like this for every intern in their 1st week of internship...
i've met few interns from other college/uni...
& they said the workload & stress gradually increase as the time passed...

i've watched the whole series of 3R Season 12 on the 1st & 2nd day of my internship...
& i started to like it very much...
the issues discussed are very close to our daily lives...
& i term it 'personalized'...
the presentation is a mixtual of drama & facts...
with 3 hosts hosting & acting as the main characters (drama)...
some drama are quite funny but some are quite sad & melancholy...
btw, the official website is very informative...

& also the contact number of NGOs & social organizations...
& about women - issues, make-up tips etc...

basically, my life in these few days was...
traffic jam - office - traffic jam - home - watch tv - loitering around my house - sleep...
i took 1 hour to reach office & reach home...
but luckily the traffic jam does not conquer the whole route...
only stuck in traffic jam in certain part...

It had been more than 3 weeks since my last post,
You might wondering why i've dissappeared for so long.
The 1st 2 weeks of August were the most busy and hectic weeks,
because it was the time to hand in all my final assignments (& presentation)
& it was final exam period.

The Intro to English Literature final exam was quite ok,
but to me the mid-term was easier.


Just completed burning the corporate videos into dvd,
took 2 days to burn,
because the mac computer dvd burner got problem,
sometimes can burn, sometimes cannot,
irritated and frustrated,
at last i burn the remaining copies at home.
when me & sukkee were waiting for the burning process,
we watched SHE Live in HK concert,
& she make our editing room as a karaoke room...
haha...


Glad all the exams & assignments were over now,
These 2 weeks were also the last moment of my university life,
yup...it was the last few days as a student.


I'll be starting my internship tomorrow (at 2.30pm),
Speaking of internship,
i felt that i was very lucky (lotsa good luck) on last thursday & friday,
on thursday,
when i reached the front door of star rfm (988) for interview,
i received a call from red communications (production house) for interview appointment,
then on friday,
when i was in the meeting room at red comm for an interview,
988 called & said i was hired for internship,
what a coincidence...

i have interest in both job scope,
in 988, i'll be placed in promotion,
so if there is any events which 988 is involved in (official radio),
i'll get the chance to help in behind the scene...
sounds quite interesting...

for red comm,
i'll be placed in the pre-production of upcoming tv shows
& maybe in 3R programme...
here, i'll get to learn & gain more experience in the production field...
a bit background on the company...
the tv shows it involved in are...
Projey Runway, 3R, Gol & Gincu, Illyana...

after much thinking,
i decided to accept red comm offer
because it was related to my major pathway
& no need to go through the hassle of traffic jam every day...
traffic jam makes me sick & tired & sleepy...


last sat,
i worked for MIFA 8 as conti,
this was the 1st time i stepped into a studio,
the contestants, judges & host were shooting promotion photo...
quite funny...
they need to jump many times to get the right effect (& perfect photo)
this time,
i didn't miss any timecode...
maybe i'm able to catch up already...
or maybe it wasn't that much to write & not that packed...
haha...


these few days i watched Hana Kimi,
yes...at last i got to watch it,
when it was shown on tv,
i was watching tvb drama in another channel...
i began to like this drama,
it is very very very funny & 'lum'...
especially the scenes where Quan (Wu Zun) & Ruixi (Ella) look at each other like already fall in love...
can't wait to watch the last episode...
wondering how Quan will reveal to Ruixi that he knows her identity...
& how the others will react when they know Ruixi is actually a girl...
must be very funny...
waiting anxiously...
now i'm in episode 11 (total=15 episodes)...

i suddenly feel bored...
not that i have nothing to do...
i just feel bored & lazy to do my assignments...

finally...
i've some understanding on how to use spss...
but cannot use the programme in uni lab because cannot save the file...
yes...cannot save into desktop, my documents, pendrive...
no use typing all the data but cannot SAVE!!!
only one of the pc manage to save the file...
jac is so lucky...
weird la...

everything is going to end in 2 weeks time...
let me count the exact days...
13 days more...
i not sure whether i should feel relieve or sad...
relieve because i don't have to go throught assignments & exams anymore...
actually assignments are still ok...
but not exam...stress & tension...
sad because i'll gonna miss school life...
& step into the working world forever...
unless i pursue Master but that time it would not be as fun as now...
sometimes, i really hope all these won't end so soon...
but what can i do?
life still goes on...
time still moves on...
i don't have power to stop time from forwarding...
unless i have "Click" remote control...
haha...keep dreaming...

done nothing much today...
in the morning, i did 'pre-testing' for my corporate video...
well...the comments are not bad...
done editing the footages...
now only left the music, narration & color correction...
but stucked here...

for the questionnaire, also stucked at analysis...
yup...cos i'm not so sure how to use spss...
need to wait till next week only can do...

so for now, i only can do literature essay...
but these few days i was really exhausted (stucked in the 'ice box' editing room for few hours facing the pc)...
looked at the paper, can't think anything...
can't even concentrate...
so i watched tv, listened to music & on9...
until today, only written 1 paragraph...the introduction...

today, sat for almost 2 hours at Tai Zi with Huishan...
have lunch there & 'gossip' a bit la...
both of us felt very lazy to move...
actually i wanna go home earlier to rest but lazy to move my butt...
Huishan wanna go toilet but lazy to move also...haha
so we sat there until 3pm...
when it looked like about to rain that time...

this semester's media law students (i'm not one of them) will have 'moot' court next friday...
sounds quite fun...
the images of court proceedings in tvb dramas flashed in my mind when huishan told me her group's story...
i'm tvb drama freak but not as crazy as huishan's sister la...
the lecturer even had borrowed all the costumes & the props used in real court...
wow...she's really looking forward to it...
well...i might be one of the audiences...hahaha
just wait & see la ;P

finally...
i will get to watch Harry Potter...
my father said he wanna watch so we plan to watch it tomorrow...
hope it goes on smoothly...
actually the plan was today but it was a bit late already & gonna rain soon at my place...
so have to postpone it to tomorrow...

but i still wanna watch it...
wanna know how the director transformed the novel into motion picture...

well...i got quite a number of hot news (some i already knew)...
JJ has broken the Guinness Record!!!
in 2 hours & 30 minutes, JJ had signed 3052 copies of his latest album in autograph session!!!
no short cut oh...the signature is the same he used everytime he signed his album...

i've collected 100 copies of filled-in quetionnaire,
which means that i've achieved the target...
but there are still some with my beloved friends...
it has been a week already since i started to give out my questionnaire...
now, i can start analyzing the data anytime i want...
don't know how long it will take...
the program (spss) hasn't become my friend yet...
today, i've approached more than 10 male students (yes, in my uni) to help me fill-in the questionnaire...
when i was waiting to get the key for editing room, i walked around the corridor searching for my target...hahaha...
my friends & I all help each other to distribute the questionnaire...

yesterday, i worked as conti for MIFA 8 competition...
well, i've gained some knowledge on fashion (as i'm very outdated in fashion cos i'm not into fashion)...
Twiggy (i haven't seen how she looks like but i know she's very thin)...
organiza (a kind of fabric...don't know how it looks like also...the spelling correct???)...
don't want to reveal much here...

i still have literature assignment (1000 words essay) to do...
but i just feel very lazy to get started...

went to editing room at 12pm...
came out for lunch at 12.50pm...
back to editing room at 1.50pm...
went home at 3.20pm...
i've just editing about 1 minute scene & it's from the rough cut...
most of the time chatting in the editing room...
a bit regretted that i didn't cherish my time...
but never mind...
still have time to do editing (hope so)...

just knew that my best friend's eyes are infected by dunno-what-reason...
hope she'll recover soon...

but the main frustration is i doesn't really know how to use it...
attended spss seminar but still can't really remember all the contents...

today,
i've edited 3 mintues plus of 6-8 minutes corporate video...
but there are still many footages & ideas have not edited...
i think it will be more than 8 minutes if i didn't cut out some parts...
but there are so many nice footages...
need to make rationale decision here...
how i hope i could chunk in all the footages...
but this is impossible...

too long, audiences will be tired of it...
too short, there will be not enough information to capture audiences' heart...
& influence them to visit Kuala Selangor...

just imagine,
producing 6-8 minutes video from 3 hours tape of footages...
it's really not that easy...
as the footages are all scenery footages...
no dialogue...
no interview...
no archive footages...

the best footage is of course the sunset...
we've capture 30 minutes of sunset...
after increasing the speed,
the movement of the clouds and the light are so beautiful!!!
i could only say this trip is a worthwhile trip...
although we didn't manage to capture any fireflies footage...

just checked the 2nd draft of final exam timetable...
Introduction to English Literature is on the 3rd day of the final exam period, 13 August (Monday)...
this is the only paper which has final exam...

being in the last semester of last year of degree really makes me worned out...
hope all these will end soon...
TIME is my greatest challenge...
my greatest enemy...
so must cherish every second i have now...

let me count how many assignments are still in progress:
1. Intro to English Literature 1000 words essay
2. Frankenstein novel (still half way through)
3. 6-8 minutes corporate video - editing
4. distribute questionnaire (after that, use spss to calculate the data)
5. prepare final report and presentation for the survey findings

another frustration...
find job for internship...
but i do not want to care about this now...
as i have too many things on my mind already...
do not want to add more burden on my shoulder first...
so after final exam only take this into account...

starred Nicholas Tse (Chan Chun), Shawn Yue (Fong Yik-Wei), Jaycee Chan (Wai King-Ho), Wu Jing (Tien Yeng-seng)...

one word to describe...geng...superhuman
just imagine being hit my lorry while 'flying' down the road & hit by a car after that...
not a 'light' pressure' but hit with great pressure...
being punched and hit repeatedly (cruel and brutal) during a fight...
whole body smashed into glass, kicked, punched continuously...
surely that guy will be seriously injured right?
but not in this movie...
the characters still alive in one piece with minor injuries...
that's why i say 'geng' (in cantonese)...

one can estimate what will happen next in some parts...
but i won't reveal the parts here...
wanna know?
just go to the cinema to watch it yourself la...haha

there are some touching scenes...
very touching...touched deep into your heart...

action-packed, bombing, blasting, fighting, smashing of glasses, fire, gun-firing, chasing, kicking, punching, hitting, 'flying', jumping...
a truely Action genre film...
quite violence...

the children did a great job here...
their acting are very real...

despite all the violence scenes,
humour element is infused during the tensed moment...
haha...

there are 2 different scenes,
but both use the same footage...

overall,
a worthy film to watch...
but if you can't stand 'extreme' violence,
please be forwarned...

Last 2 weekends (6/7, 7/7, 8/7, 14/7, 15/7), i was busy with production. This was one of the reasons I didn't update my blog for 2 weeks.

6 & 7 July: Me and my production crews went to Kuala Selangor to shoot corporate video for our Screen Production project.

-Day 1-
It was a long trip, about 2 hours to reach our destination. Our 1st stop was tanjong Karang fishing village. We were lucky to witness fishing boats returning from the sea. My ships, haha. Because each time I saw fishing boats coming back, I'll say ship, ship ship. My friends cannot bear it and said they are my ships. Lunch time. We went to a stall (house). The orange juice was so refreshing and 'delicious'. Next, we did a dangerous 'stunt'. We stood at the edge of the bridge to shoot the scenery. When big lorries passed by, we felt like floating in the air but the footages who got were quite nice. At Bukit Malawati, we saw many monkeys, naughty and love-to-eat monkeys. Some climbed on top of the car! At night, we went to Kampung Kuantan Fireflies Park. I was scared to sit inside the boat at first but when I saw fireflies with my own eyes, I was stunned. They are so beautiful and 'kelip-kelip' around the trees, like Christmas tree. We took the wrong road back. So we travelled to as far as Klang.
- End of Day 1-

-Day 2-
We went to Bukit Malawati again. This time, we took the tram ride up the hill. There were many talents involved here but they were 'free'. Haha. It was Saturday. Tourists poured in and took the tram ride, which was why we shot footages on the tram with children. Then, we went to Pasir Penambang to shoot some footages there and enjoyed fresh sugar cane drink. We bought some crackers as 'souvenir'. After that, we went back to Bukit Malawati (yeah, this was the 3rd time) to wait for sunset as the sunset on Day 1 was not nice. We shot 30 minutes footages of sunset on top of Bukit Malawati. It was beautiful. It was awesome. It was eerie when the night fall as many warriors were killed there in the past, in defending Malawati Fort and Kuala Selangor.

8 July:
Work as 'conti girl' (in-charge of continuity - Take 1, 2, 3 etc. NG, Good take etc.) for MIFA 8 competition. Started around 8am and ended at 10pm. Nothing much to talk about. So, to sum up, the contestants are very talented designers.


Day 1-14 July:
This production was the opposite of Kuala Selangor production. The schedule was very 'flexsible'. Day 1. Morning met up at 10.30am at South City Plaza for office scene. It was very funny. Due to lack of 'human resources', all production crews except our cameraman, were in the scene, act as extras. The so-called 'CEO' had the potential to become 'real CEO'. Hui Shan really looked like music teacher (after she changed her clothes). Wait. Missed something very important. As this corporate was about Halo Music and Halo Cafe, there were pictures of Halo Music artistes in the office. Chin Lay said Rynn Lin Yu Zhong is my new friend. So I added, JJ Lin is my old friend. HAHA...The main characters of the story were very photogenic and handsome/pretty). End at around 2pm. Then, my friends went to my house to 'lepak' and sleep. HAHA. At night around 8pm, we went back to SCP for live performance scene at Halo Cafe. The performer was evergreen singer.

Day 2-15 July:
Started around 1pm and ended around 2pm for house scene. Went for lunch. & wait for the rain to stop. When stop raining, we went to the playground to shoot the playground scene. As we were setting up, it started raining again. We continued to shoot in the rain. Luckily, the rain wasn't heavy. Then we headed to SCP Halo Cafe for fake and real performance. The real performance was at 9pm but by the time we had our dinner (8.45pm ++), the whole plaza was out of electricity power. It was so dark and romantic inside the cafe. So, we didn't shoot and headed home.

2. Re-editing my script, found some additional info...at 1st, i doesn't have much confidence on this production...but don't know why, suddenly i feels excited to shoot this project...& my mind is playing the beautiful scenes of Kuala Selangor as i re-edit my script...feels indulged in it...

i'll upload the photos i took on tue when we went to Kuala Selangor asap...

so now, back to work...content analysis & script & production preparation & literature...

next month, will start production projects already
5 people doing 2 projects / corporate videos,
after the shooting,
most of us will be glued to the editing room the whole day,
that stuffy and super cold room...

oh no...
we still need to do our research paper at the same time,
questionnaire, spss, data analysis, findings discussion, presentation,
it seems 'easy' but has many things to write...

i have yet to start reading Frankenstein,
the font is so small,
don't know can finish it before the lecturer teach that novel or not,
most probably cannot,
taking into consideration of the number of assignments i have in hand...

this week is a stressful week:
tue - going to Kuala Selangor for production story board

wed - finish the story board & Literature assignment

do you ever honk a car in front for stopping at the traffic light (it's RED light!!!) although there were no cars coming from other side?
this is the left turning with traffic light at Bandar Tasik Selatan new traffic light...i was using the road to yinwei's house (not the short cut way)...

there weren't many cars at the existing traffic light and no cars coming from giant back road...but it was still RED light here!!! the cars at the side lane and in front all do not care the RED sign...they just drive through it!!! how irresponsible...when i stopped at the RED light, i heard someone honk me...

Finally, it's GREEN & i moved forward la...then the Giant back road side turned green too...i saw from my side mirror, the cars just blocked the way for other side and does not care...remind you...it's the YELLOW BOX!!! Aren't we taught not to stop at the YELLOW BOX???

this situation also happens at the junction outside my house...i need to turn right at the junction to go home...almost every day, i meet (continue to meet) reckless drivers on the straight lane, stopping there blocking the way and do not even move their cars even a bit...& it's in the YELLOW BOX!!!

i think these drivers should go back to driving school and learn the road etiquette...

ok, starts with our 1st 'trick'...hahaha

1st, v gave her a present (2 posters) & said this is the only present from us (10 people shared to buy this le)...then met boon kai on the way 2 blk. a...he said, this is the present? very expensive (sumthing like that la)...then we kept on saying this present very expensive...& joeldebb very desperate to open it to c...this is only paper wor...eh...got sony bmg words there...don't tell me it's jay chou (yes, it is...hahaha)...blablabla...at last opened...blablabla...then not long after, huishan gave her the 'real' present...hahaha...bet she can't sleep tonite...

then, i went for class...actually it was 10am-1pm but ms. lina have meeting at 11.30am so yippeee...today only sukkee & me attended class...kesian...this class only have 5 students...

so went to old town to meet huishan, joeldebb etc...on the way, bought a slice of cake from secret recipe (well...the shops just outside my university are quite 'high class')...i've been standing in front of the counter for minutes...doing what? choosing cake la...don't know which flavour she like...sms huishan, she also don't know...at last called jac for help...chinlay, so sorry i really dunno what flavour you like the most :-( i'll remember it starting from today!!!

i was very lucky

as of yesterday
i have 3 literature review (need min 5)

the rest are relevant to my topic

i fainted while in pasar malam

my right hand fingers (3rd & 4th fingers)
were hit by door
because of the thunderstorm
luckily no fractured bones
i was like a cacat person for more than 1 week
so if you ask me am i right-handed or left-handed now
i can't give you the answer
because i use my left hand for heavier things

the 'skin' just peeled off end of last month
now there is 'bump' on my fingers
sometimes accidentally 'terkena'
with great pressure will feel pain
